My Honors Experience
I entered the University Honors Program as a Sophomore when I transferred from Colby College to the University of Cincinnati. The honors program appealed to me specifically because the program themes of Global Studies, Community Engagement and Research fit in with my academic and personal interests. During my first year at UC and in the honors program I completed the Gateway to Honors course and had the opportunity to take an honors seminar focused on climate change and community engagement. Currently I am taking an honors seminar offered through the philosophy department entitled Conversations About Life. I am also in the process of completing a self-designed project proposal under the Research Theme and will be conducting a research project focused on identifying successful local food campaigns from around the country in order to assist in designing a similar local campaign. I have applied for the Water Justice honors seminar which will be offered this coming fall and includes a study tour component to the Mexico upon the conclusion of the semester. Finally, I hope to conclude my college experience next spring with a study abroad program in Baja, Mexico which I also plan to propose to use as an honors experience. Please see the subpages under the honors header for documentation and more information on my honors experiences.
